Level 2 Moving and Handling of People

This course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely move and handle individuals while maintaining health, safety, and dignity by focusing on risk awareness, safe use of equipment, and applying best practice techniques.

Proper moving and handling training avoids injuries to both staff and service users, and is essential for compliance under UK law as well as meeting best practice standards. This Level 2 course takes a compassionate, person-centred approach to moving and handling. It is appropriate for novice learners and those looking to refresh their moving and handling skills.

• Understand the health, safety and dignity issues related to being moved or handled.​
• Know how the personal handling plans, and risk assessment reduce the risk of injury to those involved in moving and handling.​
• Know the requirements of safe use of equipment related to the moving and handling of people.​
• Be able to apply the principles of safer moving and handling.

Everyone involved in the moving and handling of people, including clinical and non-clinical staff across a range of settings. No previous moving and handling experience is required.

This course is ideal for Personal Assistants who will go on to take one of our Individual Handling Plan Application for Personal Assistants sessions.
